Trustees to decide on school names

The School Naming Advisory Committee recommended names for a new middle school and the Regional Technical Institute to the school board trustees last month.

The names submitted for the school board’s consideration for the new southeast middle school are:

  • Fred Horlacher Middle School
  • Kendyl Depoali Middle School
  • South Meadows Middle School

Four names submitted to replace the existing name of the Regional Technical Institute are:

  • Edison Career and Technology Academy
  • Career Development Academy
  • Washoe County Career Academy
  • Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology

Trustees will come to a decision at a meeting on June 24.
