Sparks High to honor alumni
Sparks High School will honor some of Sparks’ best and brightest at the school’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the high school, 820 15th St., followed by a reception at 5 p.m.
The event will celebrate the induction of the following Sparks alumni:
- Duane Gillies, class of 1959
- Paul “Bud” Tholl, class of 1940
- Kenneth Tollefson, class of 1957
- Paul “Pat” Arthur Tholl, class of 1967
“It’s just a warm fuzzy feeling for everybody,” said Larry Wilson, a committee member of the Sparks alumni group. “It’s nice for these kids to see some of these people go on and be successful.”
Traditionally, alumni and friends of alumni are nominated and selected for induction into the Hall of Fame on the basis of contributions to the community and successes based on their hard work and pursuit of education.
Each person inducted will be introduced by a student, who researched, wrote and will read a short biography of the recipient.
Tuesday’s event is open to the public.
