School Board: Carne leads Celana

By Cyndi Loza

Incumbent Dan Carne led in a two-way contest against first-grade teacher Celana Wasson on Tuesday night based on early results for the Washoe County school board.

I’m very thankful for the support I received,” Carne said. “This being my third term, I appreciate the support that the voters are giving me.”

Carne, 59, who represents District A in south and southwest Reno and Incline Village, said he wants to continue working on a system of accountability in various departments and schools. The system includes setting goals in departments and schools and reporting progress annually.

Wasson, 54, a first-grade teacher at Little Flower Catholic School, said it was too early to tell who was going to win.
