Police looking for woman who tried to abduct 2 children in Wheaton
A woman tried to abduct two children on Sunday offering them ice cream if they would get into her car, according to Wheaton Police.
An attempted child abduction was reported to the Wheaton Police Department at approximately 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Two young girls, both under 13 years-old, were playing outside in the 1900 block of Lancaster Avenue.
A lone female suspect stopped a vehicle near the children and attempted to lure the children into the vehicle. The suspect offered to take the girls out for ice cream if they would get into the car and go with the suspect.
The two young girls ran into their home and told their parents, who called the police department. The area was searched immediately, and officers were not able to locate the vehicle or suspect.
The suspect was described as: - Female - White (possibly Hispanic) - 55-65 years of age - Black and gray hair - Medium brown complexion - Wearing a gray blouse with a white and blue silk scarf
The suspect’s vehicle was described as: - A four-door, white in color, large vehicle, unknown make and model - Rust near door handles and tail lamps - Decal on driver’s side rear door of a blue square with black lettering including the letter “L”
