Champaign

  • A 44-year-old woman reported that an unknown suspect used her personal information on Aug. 25 to open a credit card account at the 1700 block of Bonnie Blair Drive Tuesday evening. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • An 17-year-old Urbana girl was arrested for stealing cosmetics at Wal-mart at the 2610 block of N. Prospect Ave., Tuesday evening.

  • A 24-year-old woman reported that her motor vehicle was burglarized at the 2500 block of West Springfield on Monday. According to a police report, the victim retuned to her vehicle to find that an unknown suspect had forced entry into the soft-top cover and stole her stereo. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 65-year-old woman reported that her fanny pack was taken by an unknown suspect on the 400 block of East Green Street on Tuesday. According to a police report, the victim was entering the secured apartment building when the unknown suspect grabbed the victim’s fanny pack and rode off on a bike. The fanny pack contained food stamps and money. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Urbana

  • A 22-year-old man reported a package containing Halloween costumes stolen at the 900 block of West Oregon Street on Tuesday. According to a police report, the victim had a packaged delivered and left it outside his apartment. An unknown offender opened the package and removed the contents. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 20-year-old man was arrested for attempting to enter several parked vehicles Wednesday morning at the 2500 block of Prairie Green Drive. According to a police report, a witness reported seeing the man attempting to enter several parked vehicles.

  • A 26-year-old man had been presenting false claims to an insurance company to obtain money at the 300 block of South Broadway Avenue on Tuesday. According to a police report, employees reported the incident. For the past 18 months, the man has been presenting false claims and receiving reimbursed money. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • An unknown offender fled from police after pumping gas and leaving without paying at the 1400 block of North Lincoln Avenue Tuesday. According to a police report, police soon located the vehicle but the offender fled, first in the vehicle and then on foot. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

University

  • An Evanston, Ill., man reported his wallet stolen from a locked locker between 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m at IMPE, 201 E. Peabody Dr. on Tuesday. According to a police report, the wallet contained several credit and debit cards valued at $84. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 33-year-old man was arrested on a charge of possession of up to 30 grams of cannabis at the 1100 block of West Nevada Street early Wednesday morning. According to a police report, an officer on foot patrol noticed an odor in the area where the suspect was sitting in his car. During a search of the car, officers found a plastic bag containing rolling papers and a bag of suspected cannabis, as well as a plastic container with residue under the driver’s seat.
