Gas prices here still highest in nation

By Cyndi Loza

Chicago gas prices remain the highest in the nation — at an average of $3.46 a gallon compared to $3.06 a gallon nationally. On average, gasoline prices in the United States increased 6 cents in the last three weeks, according to a weekend survey by oil industry analyst Trilby Lundberg. “I just think they’re taking advantage of us,” said Barry Johnson, 46, of Flossmoor, who said he pays about $90 to fill his Infiniti SUV. “What else can we do? We can’t run a car on milk.”
