Fernley warehouse fire doused
A Sunday fire outside a vacant Polyglass Inc. warehouse in Fernley was contained in about 90 minutes, said Jeff Page, city emergency manager.
“At this point, the fire is pretty much knocked down,” Page said. “They’re in mop-up phase now.”
Firefighters prevented the fire reported about 2:40 p.m. from reaching a nearby lumberyard, Page said.
Page said the fire to the east of the 10,000-square-foot building was among stored products covered with plastic sheeting in an area of 2,500 square feet.
No injuries were reported, Page said.
Page said a shift of workers would start cleaning up the damage at 11 p.m.
State fire marshals are investigating the cause.
