Carne, Wasson to advance
Incumbent Dan Carne and retired teacher Celana Wasson won a three-way contest Tuesday for District A on the Washoe County school board.
They will face off in the general election in November.
“I’m very thankful that the voters have chosen to put their faith in me again if this holds true,” Carne said. “My commitment is to try even harder for students to get provided what they need.”
Carne and Wasson will leave behind candidate Herb Primosch, an engineer at the University of Nevada, Reno.
“The people are speaking, telling us what they want,” Primosch said. “I wish (Carne and Wasson) good luck if they prevail over me.”
The district includes south and southwest Reno and Incline Village. The term is four years, and the pay is $750 a month.
Wasson, a certified teacher in Nevada, was not available for comment.
