About me

I am a full-time newsroom reporter at the Reno Gazette-Journal in Reno, Nevada, where I write articles about the local issues affecting elementary, middle and high schools and the surrounding area.

Before working in Reno, I was a Metro Desk reporting intern at the Chicago Sun-Times, a newspaper with a circulation of 350,000, where I wrote general news and features stories.

I earned a bachelor of science degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my time there I wrote and reported for the student publications The Daily Illini and La Carta.

I am a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and a founding member of its University of Illinois chapter. I have participated also in the Unity Convention held by Unity: Journalists of Color. I am completely fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish.

I love a good John Cusack movie and drive my Vespa whenever I can.
