I am a copy editor at Guerrero Howe Custom Media, which publishes several national magazines, including Profile, March, New American Luxury, Hispanic Executive, and many more.
I worked as a reporter for several years prior, including positions at GateHouse Media in the Chicago-land area, the Reno Gazette-Journal in Reno, Nevada, covering issues from public schools to city government to human-interest pieces, and at the Chicago Sun-Times, where I wrote local news and features stories as a reporting intern on the metro desk. I have also guest blogged at Café Magazine, a Chicago-based publication covering the issues of affluent Latinos.
I earned a bachelor of science degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I wrote and reported for the student publications The Daily Illini and La Carta during my time there.
I am a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and a founding member of its University of Illinois chapter. I participated in the Unity Convention held by Unity: Journalists of Color.
I am completely fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish.
I love a good John Cusack movie and drive my Vespa whenever I can.
